Conference and Balboa Park

This weekend was General Conference.  What a spiritual feast.  We got to listen to a Prophet of God!  If you missed it, you can catch it here.  It has answers to your questions.

This week we went to the temple with two companionships.  We love doing that.  They are so wonderful.  I did see a temple worker there who was in our ward when Craig was bishop, over 25 years ago!  It was nice to see Margaret McGary again.

We went to Balboa Park again.  And we’ll be going more often now that we have passes.  King Tut is coming to the Museum of Natural History and I am looking forward to seeing that.  In the meantime we saw some pretty cool things.

This giant beautiful tree is over 100 years old.

Craig with a cougar.

It looks like Craig has a pet ankylosaur.

Count on seeing more pictures of Balboa Park!

After our trip to the Park, we decided to get lunch at a place called Phil’s BBQ.  Our Sister from Texas told us it was good and it was.  As we were leaving a district of missionaries came in.  It is popular and good.

Tri tip sandwich big enough for two meals.

How cute is this?  It was BIG, probably 20 feet tall.

Will U Marry Me?

Unrelated to the proposal above, this bride and groom were taking pictures in front of the Battalion.  Many, many people take pictures there because it is such a beautiful place.  We got permission to take a couple of pictures of the happy couple.

Today I get to introduce you to darling Sister Martindale from Utah.  She is studying veterinary science at SLCC.  Her family has one dog, two cats and a tarantula.  She loves reading, mythology, swimming (although not on her mission!) and spending time with her Mom who is her best friend.  She is on a Spanish speaking mission.  She loves to see the change in people when the Gospel clicks.  She is always cheerful!
